You are getting married! Congratulations! Whether getting engaged is a long-planned step or part of a whirlwind romance, here is wishing the best to you both as you are now heading towards your wedding day! You deserve all the best wishes of your family and friends, and every bit of positive help and warmth from everyone who you choose to help you as you prepare for the big event and the life that lies beyond it.
Getting ready for a wedding can be stressful, but it can also be fun. And there are parts of the process that can be sorted and put to bed fairly early, hopefully leaving you with peace of mind as you move onto other things. High on that list is booking your venue, closely followed by the choice of caterer and photographer.
Photos of your wedding day are precious and important – unique and irreplaceable, in fact. As a wedding photographer, I have seen the joy that great images bring, after the event itself. You are right to choose a photographer carefully, to ensure that your photos are taken and delivered to you with the same level of care, love and enthusiasm that you would look for in any other part of your big day.
Your wedding photos are probably best not left to your relative or friend who is just starting out and who will do it for free to “build up portfolio.” By all means, invite them, but make sure that your key shots – those images which should be over your mantlepiece and in the treasured album for years to come – are in the hands of someone who has done this before. A lot!
