As a lover of live music, I love to support new bands with my camera
As soon as I got my first Nikon one of my biggest pleasures became using it at gigs and to support young bands. A wedding photography needs to take time off, you know! Living in Haywards Heath, near Brighton, at the time meant an endless of supply of gigs to go to, with young and enthusiastic bands who were penniless but extremely cool. As a supporter of the arts in general, and music in particular, it wasn’t hard to shoot some great gigs – my pay being free entry, a few beers and sometimes my train money.
I still shoot gigs – not as often, but with the same enjoyment. I have had the pleasure of seeing my work on a few album covers, and my videos getting a few hits on YouTube too.
