The West Sussex wedding of Alan & Joanne

Location: Jeremy’s Restaurant, Borde Hill House and Gardens, near Haywards Heath, West Sussex

Borde Hill, on the road between Haywards Heath and Balcombe, West Sussex, is one of the loveliest weddding venues in an area which is not short of good places for celebrations. I was really glad to be back there to photograph a wedding.

Joanne and Alan had been together for some time, living overseas. Before heading back down under, they realised that it would be good to tie the knot firmly as their parents weren’t getting any younger. They found a midweek slot at Borde Hill – and they found me.

This was a single photographer short shoot, though I still delivered the best part of 300 good edits. An intimate wedding, with a beautiful venue, beautiful people and a great atmosphere, it wasn’t hard to find good photos. In the event I was around for the entire wedding – it was less than 4 hours from the start of the ceremony to the couple driving off.

A very happy afternoon, with great speeches, plentiful champagne and a lot of love!

A favourite shot? Hard to pick one, but I have known few weddings where I have had as much fun catching people in the act of BIG laughter. 🙂
