£220 plus travelling expenses (and lunch if involved!)
What to expect
80-100 edited photos you receive the digital files with full rights except for commercial use.
Sessions with small babies are special in that no cooperation can be expected from the main subject! We normally take less time than in a full family shoot; spending about 45 minutes to an hour in the home. It is best to arrange arrival when the baby is likely to be active and content – generally when fairly recently fed. The aim is not simply to catch smiles, lovely though they may be, but to capture a range of expressions, forming a portrait of a rapidly-developing person at that point in her life.
£100 plus travelling expenses. Expect 40-50 edited photos you receive the digital files with full rights except for commercial use.
Prices obviously vary depending on the print medium chosen, framing if any and size. Please contact me for specific costings.
A price can be negotiated, from a base of £595 for one photographer, working for four hours. Here is our full package:
Two photographers, all day coverage:
* Unlimited reportage-style photography (at least 1000 – 1200 photos taken) covering the entire day. This would include the traditional “group shots” but would emphasise informal coverage, from getting ready to your dance.
* Full digital darkroom work and creative editing of at least a selected 100-200 photos (Some as black and white/sepia etc. Please state your preferences on this.) Our style is not highly “artificial”, favouring a straightforward, naturalistic look. Editing is time consuming: a long day at a wedding leads to a long week of hard work.
* You receive your digital images at full size with no “watermarks” on a disc. You will keep all copyright privileges so you can print your own pictures, and distribute discs to family and friends etc. We only ask that you make no commercial use of the photos without our permission (for instance, giving the images to the catering or car companies used) and that we have permission to include photos of your event in our portfolio.
* We do not include prints or an album as part of our standard package, but are very happy to discuss your requirements, be it for a traditional album, a deluxe photobook or a video montage to be shown on a computer. Our rationale is that many couples in the digital age are happy to sort out their own way of viewing the photos, just wanting good quality photography on the day. Fora deluxe Blurb produced album of the day I charge £500 for the editing work involved and the first copy, with subsequent copies being at cost.
The cost for such coverage is £1200, plus travelling expenses if BOTH photographers have to travel a significant distance.
I know that not every budget stretches to this level of coverage. I am happy to discuss packages and negotiate what works for you, starting from a base of £595 for one photographer for four hours.
I quote on a job by job basis – tell me your needs and lets talk about it! For a typical shoot generating a large number of exposures, I charge £160 for the first hour, £80 for subsequent hours during the shoot, plus standard travelling expenses. This covers subsequent editing time, which is not charged separately. If few photos are taken, leading to a small edit, the cost will drop.
What to expect
From a two hour shoot, you can expect anywhere between 40 and 100 edited photos, depending on the nature of the shoot. You receive the digital files with full rights to print, post online or otherwise use in your business. I retain the right to use images on my website, unless agreed otherwise. I do ask for acknowledgement of authorship on websites, and any use I make of the files will link to your site also, making acknowledgement of mutual benefit.
One to one photography lesson: £25 per hour plus travelling expenses.
Group photography lesson: £35 per hour plus travelling expenses.
Full day corporate training: £300 plus travelling expenses.
Illustrated Talk: £50 per hour plus travelling expenses.
Photo sessions of a gig or theatre show in rehearsal, or publicity shots for a band or performer, often generate a large number of exposures and a massive edit. My charge is my standard “business rate”: £160 for the first hour, £80 for subsequent hours during the shoot, plus standard travelling expenses.
However, as a fan of live music of many kinds, and recognising that this would be beyond the reach of young, unsigned acts, I try to make it easier. I am happy to negotiate and have shot gigs for my travelling expenses, free entrance to the event for myself and anyone with me and the odd bit of food or drink to sustain life while with my clients.
I am also aware of the value of mutual publicity via weblinks and the fact that there is a mutual intriduction into different markets. All material provided from my shoots is on the basis of acknowledgement, with mutual website links, facebook “likes” etc.
